20 Years Of ‘X-Men’: Hugh Jackman Fights A Wolverine Figurine In Throwback Video
I know how time passes by but time also makes you forget that it is passing by. That’s why it is hard to believe that 20 goddamn years have passed since the Australian actor convinced that he’s not only a Canadian, but also a mutant who has retractable claws, has insane healing powers, and his bone structure is made of Adamantium. Yes, I am talking Hugh Jackman’s iconic turn as Wolverine/Logan in X-Men.
On the movie’s 20th anniversary, Jackman took to Twitter to celebrate the role that would go on to change his life forever along with a video that’s adorable enough to make you go “aww!”. You can check it out here:
So here’s the thing. When the studio called and asked if I could get in shape to play #Wolverine in 3 weeks. I might have over promised! But wouldn’t you have too? Happy 20th Anniversary X-Men Universe. #Xmen #20 pic.twitter.com/bwQJnmyZBI

Although Jackman has retired from the role, fans continue to shower him with love for playing Wolverine. Here are the reactions:
And one year ago today, we watched the Greatest Showman! My little girl was so excited to wear her Wolverine blades w/ the Greatest Showman costume. pic.twitter.com/CD71wuwULH

I think you’ve since been forgiven for that promise considering how much time and effort you put into that character for all of the subsequent films. Good on Deb for putting up with your crazy diet and training schedules too! We’re forever grateful to the both of you 🙌💕

I think that one of the biggest reasons why Jackman’s iteration of Wolverine has become irreplaceable in the minds of fans and maybe even studio executives is simply because of Jackman’s dedication to the role. No matter how good or bad any of the X-Men movies were, he gave his hundred percent and the results are there for everyone to see. The big question after that is that, as a fan, do I ever want to see him reprise the role? Honestly speaking, no. He went off on a high note in Logan, giving one of the best performances of all time, and I just want him to do other roles because apart from being Wolverine, he’s a fan-f*cking-tastic actor.
