Amitabh Bachchan Rubbishes Fake News About His Recovery From COVID-19
Let’s start with this piece of news with a sad fact. The Bachchans catching the Coronavirus disease has received more coverage than the devastating floods in Assam, Bihar, and West Bengal, and the truth behind the Coronavirus testing happening in India. So, go ahead and give those two topics your undivided attention and if you can, do something to change it. Because the Bachchans’ battle with COVID-19 has gotten so much attention that there’s fake news circling around the topic.
Earlier today, the “pinnacle” of mainstream journalism reported that Amitabh Bachchan has tested negative for COVID-19. And what was their source? Sources!

Well, the news was so false that Bachchan (Or at least the person who’s handling his social media account) took to Twitter to rubbish. Well, considering the nature of the tweet, I have a feeling that it is him on his smartphone and not his social media manager.
.. this news is incorrect , irresponsible , fake and an incorrigible LIE !! https://t.co/uI2xIjMsUU

I don’t want to be cynical during these times and especially since the man is fighting with such a deadly disease at his age. But I think the veteran actor has understood the impact of fake news after spreading a lot of them himself. Don’t remember? Once Bachchan said that on amavasya, the power of the virus is at its maximum and clapping and the sound of the shankh will reduce/destroy its potency. Another time he shared a fake picture that claimed that India’s diya lighting exercise to kill the Coronavirus can be seen from the sky. He also preached about homeopathy (The air guitar of medicine) is awesome. And now after all this, he has to take on fake news. Cyclical, indeed.
So, what’s the moral of the story? Stay healthy. Stay safe. And stop spreading fake news.
