‘Friends’ David Schwimmer Says Once And For All, Ross And Rachel “Were On a Break”

David Schwimmer who is best known for playing Ross on Friends has finally ended the whole debate about whether Ross and Rachel were on a break. The subject of Ross and Rachel’s break on the show has been oft-discussed over the years and it has always had the hit sitcom’s fandom divided. And 16 years after the show’s finale, the question still remains. Appearing on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Schwimmer was asked to address the question of the “break” yet again. And he totally agrees with his character Ross.

A recent episode of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon saw David looking physically done with Friends-related questions when it came up (as it always does when the star cast of the show is involved). David talked about the things fans yell out to him admitting “you were on a break” is one of them. The break refers to a Season 3 episode where Ross sleeps with another woman hours after an argument with Rachel. To Ross, they were on a break from their relationship but for Rachel, it was cheating. David said, “people are so passionately divided about whether or not, you know, they were on a break”. The celebrity talk show host then asked, “right now as you, David Schwimmer, where do you – were they on a break or were they not a break?” To which David replied, “Yeah, it’s not even a question. They were on a break.”

David Schwimmer is soon making a return to TV sitcoms with Intelligence, a comedy about an NSA agent teaming up with a computer analyst for a new cybercrimes unit in the UK government. Schwimmer is all set to play Jerry Bernstein alongside Nick Mohammed’s Joseph Harries. The actor also spoke about the awaited Friends reunion that is so far being called an unscripted special. We’ve heard what Jennifer Anniston and Lisa Kudrow have to say about it and now David talked about it saying “It’s basically a really fun interview and some other surprise bits.”
