OPPO’s 125W Charging Tech Can Charge A Phone In Literally 20 Minutes
It’s barely been a month since I wrote about just how quick the 65W fast charging solution on the OPPO Find X2 Pro is. But OPPO has already bested itself and has given us a glimpse of some insane battery charging tech that is soon expected to make its way to OPPO phones in the near future.
First and foremost is the new 125W flash charge technology that can fill up a 4,000mAh battery in a mere 20 minutes. A quick 5-minute charge will fuel the battery up to 41%. For context, the OPPO Find X2 Pro with its 65W SuperVOOC charger fuels in about 38-40 minutes.

Although increasing charging speeds may sound as simple as ramping up the wattage, there’s a lot of work that goes behind such technology. For starters, OPPO makes use of double-6C cells that are claimed to have a breakthrough battery ratio and an integrated MCU (microcontroller unit) to improve charging efficiency.

Not just that, the system also makes use of 10 additional temperature sensors which OPPO says will ensure maximum safety during charging. If the temperature exceeds beyond a predetermined level, the voltage supply will likely decrease to prevent any untoward incident.
Interestingly, the charging system not only supports SuperVOOC and VOOC flash charge protocols, but also has support for 65W PD and 125W PPS protocols which won’t render the charging system useless when used with certain third-party chargers.
While OPPO hasn’t announced a phone which makes use of the new charging protocol, such announcements are usually followed by product announcements.
While OPPO phones have not had a long history with respect to wireless charging – with its first phone to support wireless charging only being announced earlier this year – OPPO has now announced the world’s fastest wireless charging system.
OPPO’s 65W AirVOOC wireless flash charge can fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in 30 minutes at the fastest rate. It also supports the Qi standard. The charger is made with sculpted glass and the bottom is equipped with a semiconductor cooler in order to control heat.
Apart from these two new charging solutions, OPPO also announced two new mini chargers: 50W mini SuperVOOC charger ad 110W mini flash. They make use of GaN technology to ensure a small form factor.
