‘The Boys’ Season 2 Comic-Con Clip: The Deep And Billy Butcher’s Aquatic Chase Has A Bloody End
The Boys debuted the teaser for Season 2 a few weeks ago and it was, you guessed it, diabolical. The scale and scope felt bigger. The tone felt darker and grittier. And all that only increased the anxiety around the fact that the characters are going to go to places that will devastate us, especially after the ending of Season 1. Do you know where else the characters are going to go? Into a fuck*ng whale!
Yes, you read that right! The cast and crew virtually arrived at the Comic-Con panel with loads of news about how Season 2 is going to tackle White Nationalism, systemic racism, A-Train’s health, and how screwed up things are for Billy Butcher and his gang. But none of that could match up to the absolutely bonkers clip that they threw at us which involved an aquatic chase between Butcher, Hughie, MM, Frenchie, Kimiko, and The Deep. It isn’t clear if he’s part of The Seven now but he does his job and tries to stop the gang by putting a whale between them and the shore. I say ‘tries’ because he fails to stop them since Butcher drives a speedboat through it!
I think that the only piece of information that comes close to topping the madness bottled in this little clip is the renewal of The Boys for Season 3. According to Collider, Kripke said that “The writers and I are hard at work in the (virtual) writer’s room and we’re sad to say, the world has given us way too much material. We hope to be shooting in early 2021, but that’s up to a microscopic virus”. Well, now isn’t that something to get excited about, eh?!
